ADA EHI – ON MY MATTER
“On My Matter” by Ada Ehi
The Heart of the Song
“On My Matter” means “God, handle my situation”. It’s that moment when you’ve prayed, you’ve done your part, and now you’re telling God: “This thing concerns You. Take over.”
Ada isn’t begging from a place of weakness. She’s declaring from a place of covenant. Like Esther walking into the king’s court — _“If I perish, I perish”_ — but knowing God is already fighting for her.
1. The Sound
Afrobeats + gospel. Upbeat, danceable, but the lyrics are heavy. That contrast is intentional. You can praise while you war. You can dance while God fights. The production is bright, confident, and celebratory because the victory is already settled.
2. The Lyrics & Meaning
The core line “God, on my matter” is a surrender and a command at the same time.
Surrender: “I can’t do this alone. This is bigger than me.”
Command: “Father, You said You’d never leave me. So step in now.”
She’s reminding God of His promises, not because He forgot, but because that’s how faith talks. Psalms 35:1 _“Contend, O Lord, with those who contend with me” vibes.
3. The Theology
Ada is drawing from 3 truths:
1. God is a Personal God“My matter”. Not just the world’s problems. YOUR specific case.
2. God is a Fighting God Exodus 14:14 “The Lord will fight for you”. She’s invoking that.
3. God is a Faithful God She’s testifying in advance. The tone says “ know You’ll do it”.
Why It Hits Deep
We all have an “on my matter” season.
Job situation. Health. Family. Finances. That one thing that keeps you up at night.
This song gives you language for it. Instead of anxiety, you sing. Instead of fear, you dance. You’re basically telling the enemy: “Touch this and you’re touching God.”
It turns worry into worship.
The Vibe
If _“Only You Jesus” is intimate worship, and “Jesus You are Too Much” is celebration, then “On My Matter” is triumphant warfare. It’s you in the courtroom of heaven, and Jesus is your lawyer. Case closed.
